The CEUKF (Centre of Excellence for UK Farming and Food Supply) is an initiative set up by two founding partner institutes (IBERS at Aberystwyth University and NIAB TAG based in Cambridge).
The CEUKF aims to help farmers and the food industry address key challenges and achieve a balance between increased productivity and more efficient use of resources. We believe this will be most effectively achieved through new thinking and innovative approaches combined with the best of practical knowledge and experience.
The CEUKF concept began in 2010 following discussions between Prof Wayne Powell of IBERS and Mark Price, Chief Executive of Waitrose Supermarket. Subsequently, Waitrose provided a generous grant of seed funding to establish the CEUKF.
